April 24, 2010 - FACE Gala: Nominations accepted until March 1, 2010.

FRIENDS OF PTARC SCHOLARSHIP -- College scholarship offered to PTHS students who are children or relatives of Friends of PTARC or PTARC volunteers or who have volunteered for these organizations themselves. This $500 scholarship award is based upon volunteerism for Friends of PTARC or PTARC. Applicants must be seniors at Penn-Trafford High School whose volunteerism took place while he/she was in high school and will attend a college or technical school upon graduation. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Applications available at the PTHS Guidance office. Scholarship awarded at PTHS Awards Night.

SUMMER PLAYGROUND POSITIONS AVAILABLE -- Love kids? Playground Director positions available at locations throughout the Penn Trafford School District. 11:00 am-3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, June 14-August 6, 2010. Applications available at the PTARC Offices in the Penn Township Municipal Building, Harrison City, PA Call 724-744-2171 ext. 204 or 205.

2009 BUSHY RUN TRAIL RUN 5K RACE & WALK -- This race/walk travels through the scenic trails of the beautiful, historical Bushy Run Battlefield, Route 993, Penn Township. 2009's race was held Sunday, July 12. View the results

PTARC/SHELLEY PROSKIN RECREATION CENTER -- Route 130 & Murrysville Road, Level Green. Large multi-purpose room seating up to 149 and full kitchen. Available 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., Friday & Saturday, for parties, showers, celebrations, meetings, meals, speakers! PTARC (Penn-Trafford Area Recreation Commission) is a nonprofit, intergovernmental organization providing residents of the Penn-Trafford School District in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, with the opportunity for life-long learning, fitness, and fun through wholesome, affordable, recreational activities and safe, appealing facilities.

Three brochures are published per year -- fall, winter/spring, and summer. Brochures are mailed directly to each resident in the Penn-Trafford School District. Current offerings are also shown on this web site, www.ptarc.org.
